How to Save Word File as Template Using Kingsoft Office 2013

In Kingsoft Office 2013, you can either create your own word template or download one from Kingsoft websites and save it for later use.

Save word document as Kingsoft Writer Template

Step 1 Create a document using Kingsoft Writer 2013.

Step 2 Go to Writer > Save as > Kingsoft Writer Template.

Step 3 In the Save As dialog box that pops up, enter a name for the file and choose a location to save the template. Press Save and the template will be saved to your computer.

By default, Kingsoft Writer Template (*.wpt) type of files are stored in the program template folder. To change the default saving location for template files, see this guide: How to Reset the Location to Save Files in Office 2013

Save word document as Microsoft Word Template

In similar steps, you can also save a word document as Microsoft Word template. When choose Save As, choose Microsoft Word types.

Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP/2003 (*.dot): This type is compatible with the old versions of Microsoft Word.
Microsoft Word 2007/2010 (*.dotx): This type is compatible with Microsoft Word 2007/2010, and the latest Word versions.
Microsoft Word 2007/2010 Macro-Enabled Template (*.dotm): This type will enable the macro which you use in your templates
